After 8 years, I finally published my book. I spent around 500-600 hours writing, editing, formatting, and promoting Humble Walk. I even made a spoken word video, promoting the book, that has been viewed over 2,000 times (so far) on Facebook.
I had really mixed emotions officially releasing the book this last weekend. I was excited to finally finish this monumental task and for others to see what I have accomplished. I honestly believe lives will be changed by reading it. It has already led to great conversations with people that have all sorts of beliefs and opinions about Jesus.
It’s also kind of weird telling everyone, “Hey, look what I did! Come and see how awesome I am”. Especially with a book titled: Humble Walk. If you read my book, you’ll see I like to quote Propaganda. I love it when he says, “I’m not the artist, I’m the canvas.” We create art, we take steps of faith, we do awesome things not to bring honor and glory to ourselves. We do it so we can be on display for others to see the Artist that is doing great things in us.
So I guess I will continue this writing thing. I look forward to sharing thoughts on this blog and I even think I’ll start writing book #2. Hopefully this one doesn’t take as long.
What is that one thing you’ve always wanted to do? How will you display the work of the Artist who lives in you? Remember, you’re not the artist, you’re the canvas.
